As many of you know it seems the Lord has decided to redirect my family and I from the path of Missionary Aviation He has had us on for many years. That may and has come as quite a shock to many of you, as it did me several weeks ago when I first realized that a change or redirection was coming. Melody and I were heartbroken at first, but as we sought out direction from the Lord we discovered a peace through the trust and confidence in Him that He can give. Through the past couple of weeks we have personally contacted many of you who faithfully support us through sacrificial giving and much coveted prayer to inform you of this change of focus in ministry that our family is pursuing. We have found that we have been blessed with an amazing group of family and friends who have been gracious in their encouragements to see us continue on in ministry and to press on toward that mark of the height calling to follow Christ where ever He leads. It’s no easy thing to lay aside our wants our desires, our plans for the future. Plans that we believe are the best for our family in service to God, which we think utilize our gifts and abilities in a way that will create a fruitful ministry. However there is a flaw in that way of thinking and it is that God’s ways are not our ways, and He knows what the best use’s of our GOD given gifts and abilities are. He knows more about us than we dare to think. Because of that we can rest in the thought that when a curve ball is thrown that we didn’t expect He expected it and therefore has a plan for us still. One that is far better than any we could ever have made. Many times the path we follow to get to where the Lord wants us isn’t the easiest or the shortest, and not the way we would have chosen to get there, but its always the best! That gives me comfort that the past seven years we have endured to get to this point wasn’t a waste, it was the the path that we would reap the most benefit from. God chooses to hone us and teach us through adversity because it builds character so that when we go through the deep waters that lay ahead we will be grounded to the “Solid Rock”, that we have learned will not move and can trust will hold us safe and secure through the storms of life. I’m not saying this was a storm that we’ve gone through but it was for sure a squall, and I believe it has driven Melody and I closer to the Lord. We are learning to give up control, to give up our rights and lay our lives on the alter for the Lord to do with as He wills. The freedom we are experiencing is one of the richest feelings I’ve ever had. The sooner you let loose of the controls and stop forcing your lives in a direction contrary to the Lords will, the sooner you will experience the peace that surpasses all understanding. Melody and I hope to be a blessing to anyone who desires to get involved with what God is doing with our lives and the ministry He is guiding us towards in Missionary Technology. This new ministry will allow me be amongst the missionaries in the tribes on the front lines of this spiritual battle all Christians should be engaged in, the battle for the souls of the lost! Pray for them! They live in constant fear and spiritual darkness that offers no hope of the perfect peace we enjoy. Until next time friends, keep your eyes turned upon the Lord.
Blessings,
The Simmons Family
