Well that’s a loaded question! A lot has been going on with the Mathew family in Jackson, Michigan. And that last sentence may be an understatement.
Life has been pretty exciting for us as of the last six months!
We have added another life to the menagerie of noise in our house, and Jonah is doing well, he is a healthy 15 lbs and days away from 6 months old. Josh has shifteded ministries. He is now Supply buying and coordinating building maintenance projects at the Bible school. He is also teaching the youth Sunday School class at Cascades. Tamara has also changed ministries a bit, she is now helping maintain the student information database, again. Emma is in eighth grade, and we are looking for high schools to enroll her in this fall. Josie is in sixth grade and looking forward to being the ranking "Mathew queen" of her middle school. Addie is excelling in math and getting ready to graduate to a three-quarter size violin! Isaac is four and a human wrecking ball. He is a bundle of energy! Ezra is growing like a weed, is only 8 pounds behind Isaac, and just about ready to start riding a two wheel bike.
The last few months havebeen challenging physically and emotionally for all of us. Aside from this (insanity of?) life that has used up so much of our time, we have experienced our share of family (drama) excitement. We are thankful for the grace of God that we have experienced as we’ve gone through these trials. We have been exceedingly thankful that we are members of the body of Christ, and we have enjoyed blessings too numerous to count from individuals too numerous to count through these last months. We are solidly convinced that we could not have done this without so many of you. Thank you! in case it hasn’t been said!
As we look to the future months, we recognize a need for more time spent communicating with our partners in this ministry. We have been at the fringes of connectivity andrecognize the need to strongly re-engage and build new connections for us to be able to continue in our ministry to students and future coworkers. It has been a beautiful blessing to be involved with the ministry here at the Bible school. And we look forward to many more years here. It has been a unique experience as we see God dramatically change individuals mindset toward a life of service and sharing the gospel with people groups that have never had a chance to hear the good news in their own language. We are firmly convinced that we cannot do this on our own, financially or physically, or spiritually.
If you are reading this and you do not partner with us (financially or in prayer or physically) would you please prayerfully consider how you could join us in this task of reaching all the nations?
