New (-ish) and Hot!

God has been showing His faithfulness and generosity in ways that even I cannot miss!  MANY of you were challenged and responded to Tamara’s post on Facebook about things falling apart.  THANK YOU!       Through some MASSIVELY GENEROUS gifts, we were sent on a scavenger hunt for a vehicle that was “appropriate” for our family.  We serve in Michigan, and those of you who deal with Michigan vehicles know that anything older than 3 years has already started rusting away.  We wanted to avoid that… AND there are 8 of us, AND there is winter to drive in.  So, through a former student (and friend!) in Arizona we found this gem!

With the exception of the AC compressor quitting 370 miles into the 1800 mile trip back to Michigan, the ride was quite “pleasant.” And yes, I do mean ridiculously HOT!

I’ve got to be honest here, I was really tempted to think that I could worry myself back home in better shape.  I packed 50lbs of tools and a sleeping bag, thinking that if I prepared enough for the worst case, I’d at least be ready for something less.  I know, I’m ridiculous.   The whole way home, God was faithful to remind me that this was all His doing.  I didn’t have the money to replace the old ride, I didn’t have the time to find this one,  I couldn’t know what was REALLY hiding behind the years on the vehicle until I got there, I couldn’t know that I would meet some fabulous brothers and sisters in Christ, and I ALSO couldn’t know about the generosity of them halfway across the US.  SO. MANY. THINGS. THAT. I DON’T KNOW.   But God did, and does, and always will know exactly where whatever we need is waiting for us if we will continue to walk with Him.
