Paraguay FUN

May 15, 2014 by Mark and Joyce Cain

[cid:image002.jpg@01CF7029.CBB46140]There is nothing like family and especially grandchildren! After being out in the tribe for a week of discipleship with the Guahibo brethren which was wonderful, the Lord allowed us to go to Paraguay for 3 ½ weeks to visit our two kids and their families serving the Lord down there. What a special time and the weather co-operated very nicely this time, which was our third trip since our first visit in 2001. Our oldest grandchild, Jared Hunt, graduated and God allowed us to be there for it. As you know, being missionaries for 41 years, we have missed many many things going on in the lives of our families since we have all been separated so far from each other. Also it was nice to be able to help out our daughter-in law, Shilo, who has been recuperating from a health bout. So I was so glad to be there to help with meals and the three little grandkids. Thank you, Lord.

They say “there’s no place like home.” That has been the case with us as we get back into the jobs God has us doing here in the lovely city of Bogota, high in the Andes mountains. SIL/Wycliff is low in funds to sponsor our two Guahibo co-translators to come here to help us twice this year to continue the revision of their New Testament. Normally we would have them mid year but so far it is looking like they will only be able to come in October. Pray God provide this need.

It’s nice having family again working in Colombia. Chabela Cain Keefe, Mark’s sister, and hubby Paul just arrived from Paraguay and have moved two hours away to where our national training Inst. Is. So they will help out there as well as be on the consultant team helping new missionaries learn Spanish and tribal missionaries learn the Indian languages. So pray for them.

Mark’s folks, Connie and Mary, continue to hang in there. This month they will be moving from their independent housing part of our NTM Homes to the more care giving part on the same compound there in Sanford, FL. They will be well cared for.

Grateful for God’s special Hugs,

Mark and Joyce Cain
