Guahibo Bible Revision Progress
From the “translation revision factory” here in Bogotá Colombia, we greet you warmly. As you can see, if they have coffee and dessert, they stay pretty content in this brain picking job of getting the best revision of the Guahibo New Testament. This is the second time this year for them to come up the mountain from the tribe to help us and they plan on being here for 7 ½ weeks!
Most of the time we will just have two Guahibos helping us. Arcesio’s son is here for a little bit waiting to get the nails out of his two arms he broke while climbing a mango tree in the village we used to live in. Jhon is taking his place until he can get his son all taken care of, including taking him back down and out on the prairie to his village and coming back up the mountain.
To let you know what they are working on, right now they continue to work on Revelation and then hope to go on to Jude and James and as much of 1 and 2 Cor. they can by the end of September. Then next year, the two times they come in again, we hope to do 2 Tim., Hebrews, Matthew, 1 and 2 Thess. and hopfully finish up with Ephesians.
Thank you for your prayers as they continue to make progress making God’s Word clearer and more understandable. Pray for health and wisdom.
Family
This year has been a heavy load and we feel it best to take a break. We don’t usually go on vacations outside of a few times to see our missionary families in Paraguay or going to States for various reasons. We are both 67 this year and our bodies need more rest than those many years we served since 1973 when we were younger.
Lord willing, we will fly to the States on Nov. 2nd and leave Jan. 6th to come back here and continue plugging away in 2016! Most of our time will be spent in DE near family outside of a quick week end trip to VA to share in our home church and with friends and supporters, visiting family in PA and sharing some in local churches. On our trek home, we will stop in FL to visit Mark’s mother and other family and friends.
Our son, Bradley and family, plan to move to Mexico in June to teach at the MK school and be principal, so we have plans to fly out to see them in Washington State the first two weeks of December. With having our children scattered soon to Mexico, Paraguay, the States and us in Colombia, you can imagine being able to spend time like this will be special! Do pray we get rested up, that we’d be a blessing as we share in a few churches and spend quality family time and for the Lord’s provision. Thanks so much.
Please pray for us and our work here in Colombia!!!
Pressing on,
Mark and Joyce Cain
