Lately, I’ve been struggling with the unknowns. Where I am going to serve, what will my ministry look like, etc. This is just a wee bit of what God has been teaching me and reminding me of lately. He’s just so good!
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.-Proverbs 3:5
This is a verse I grew up memorizing. Only lately have I really been realizing the second part of this verse- lean not on your own understanding. I like to know the ins and outs, the whys and the why nots. I like having the information and the reasoning behind things. I like to know the plan. Not just the day’s plan, but the next 10 years’ plan. When I don’t know the plan, I tend to worry or have fears. I lean on my own understanding- something I am commanded not to do.
2 Timothy 1:7 says, For God hath not given us the spirit of fear;
Fear is not from God. In fact, there are countless verses that tell me that God gives me peace. Peace is a fruit of the Spirit.(Galatians 5:22) Perfect love casts out all fear. (1 John 4:18)
In Isaiah 46:10, God tells us that He declares the end from the beginning.
God is Sovereign! He already knows the end. I can rest in Him!
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your paths.
As I walk daily with God, as I abide in Him and TRUST Him with all of my heart, I can be confident that He will lead me. What an amazing promise!
There is this fantastic song by Hillsong. Part of the song says, “Spirit lead me where my trust is without borders, Let me walk upon the waters, Wherever You would call me, Take me deeper than my feet could ever wander, And my faith will be made stronger, In the presence of my Savior.”
This is my prayer.
