The last thing we want is to be whiners, but we need prayer! We are less than a month from returning to PNG, and we are not super excited about another transition. We don’t know if we have ever looked forward to going back to the field. There, we said it! The first time we left for PNG we were so excited, we didn’t know what to expect and it was one giant adventure. Now, we know exactly what to expect – and the romance is gone. We have prayed that our course would change – but God has made it abundantly clear we are to return to PNG.
So now what — we take HOPE in the fact that obedience to God’s direction always results in joy and satisfaction. That is something that is not guaranteed by any other decision, location, or relationship. He has proven this to our family in the past, and we know HE will be faithful again. In the past we have seen our Creator minister to our hearts many times as we board the plane with tears in our eyes and anguish in our hearts. HE is faithful to flood us with new mercy and grace to help us thrive. We are so thankful that our Savior has lived on earth and gone through the anguish of leaving HIS home, HIS family, HIS friends, and HIS loved ones. He did all that with JOY so that we can now be in a relationship with our Father – The JOY Giver.
Please Pray – Pray for us to experience MERCY and the strength to obey. David often begged God for mercy such as in Ps. 123 “…we keep looking to the LORD our God for his mercy… Have mercy on us LORD, have mercy…” and we are praying that same prayer right now.
