Now may the God of peace Himself, sanctify you completely… Faithful is He who calls you, who also will do it. 1Thess 5:23,24 (NKJV)
Forty-two years ago.
Greetings! Today, August 28, marks 42 years since we moved into the village to partner with Ron and Michelle Jennings in ministry to the Higaunon. The above picture was taken shortly after we moved in. We praise the Lord for His faithfulness. And we give God the glory for all He has done and is doing.
Cataract surgery:
For those of you who follow us on Facebook, this is old news. Our optometrist, whose practice happens to be in Andalusia, AL, told me two years ago that I needed cataract surgery. Due to scheduling and our travels, that didn’t happen until now. Praise the Lord, both eyes are done, and I no longer need glasses.
This picture shows me with the surgeon, Dr Sebastian Heersink, just coming out of surgery. We’re so grateful that it’s all done. My post-surgery examination showed all is well, and the optometrist will see me again next Tuesday.

Translation and Global Equip:
Being in Alabama doesn’t mean we’re not working. We have been gifted a wonderful place to stay where I continue to work. I am currently working on Psalm 89. Please pray for wisdom as I work on this book! It’s rather challenging.
We are also working online with our Global Equip students. Thank you for praying for them as they take this course. They spend about 12 hours a week doing their studies. Part of that is our two-hour Zoom meeting every Tuesday. This past Tuesday, one of the topics we discussed was one-way missionaries. These are those like A.W. Milne, who packed their belongings in a coffin, not expecting to see their loved ones again. The people he went to reach in the New Hebrides are quoted as saying,
“When he came, there was no light; when he left, there was no darkness.”
We invite you to watch this video, which will challenge you to take on the task given to the Church.

Thank you:
| Once again, Thank You for your partnership with us in this work God has given us to do. The past 43 years since arriving in the Philippines and 42 years with the Higaunon have been amazing. |
| Secure in Christ’s love alone, Lance & Laura |
