Indonesian Thanksgiving

30 November 2008 by

Thanksgiving Grub

Although we were not back in the U.S. with family, we appreciate our local family here.  Many of our friends pitched in and helped cook, bake, and of course us men did our part… eating the food!  We thank the Lord for his abundant provision of almost all the trimmings.  We were all encouraged as we thanked the Lord for pumpkin pie, macaroni, and other familiar delights.  Most importantly, friends to spend the time with.

Although we had plans for how the day would go, our plans were altered by a power outage.  Since our ovens are LPG, this didn’t hinder most cooking.  Some of our lady cooks were planning on using electric ovens, but apparently they were not deterred.  Just before the big get-together the power returned.  Yes, this allowed us to watch a little television also.

Praise! – no vehicle issues during 3 months of travel

An incredible answer to prayer, no vehicle problems or flats even after 11,000 miles of travel. Wow. Thank you Lord!
