We have been planning to leave for Asia-Pacific this November, but, as some of you already know, we are going to have to wait until April. We thought that we didn’t need to be at 75% until we left, but we were recently told by NTM that we needed to be at or near that figure right now in order to begin applying for our visas. Honestly, we were very disappointed to hear that we will have to wait until April, but it will give us more time to spend with our church and families. We are trusting that God knows what to do.
Even at this point, we don’t know for sure that we will able to fit into the April group. They can only accept a certain number of missionaries in each of these months: April, July and November. And the April group is already full. But we are in communication NTM leadership, and we both believe that if God wants us there in April, He can make that happen.
As far as deputation goes, we continue to speak at churches each Sunday. Yesterday, we spoke at Chesaw Community Bible Church. Chesaw is near Oroville, only a couple miles from the Canadian border. We spent Saturday night at the Pastor’s house there, and from their porch, you could see over the whole valley. It really felt like we were at the top of world. We shared our ministry the next morning at church and had a good response. We are thankful for churches who are so welcoming and enthusiastic.
Not leaving in November means that we will be able to speak at a lot more churches before we leave, so I am hoping to schedule some more in soon. We are thankful to be able to stay at home during the week and not be constantly traveling.
Praise:
-Churches and people who are willing and excited to partner with us in this adventure
-God knows what His plan for us is
Prayer:
-We are 47% now, and need to be at 75% at least by December
-That we will be able to fit into the group leaving for Asia-Pacific in April
Thanks!
-The McIlroys
