Almost Back To Normal

October 30, 2016 by Lincoln and Alisha McIlroy

First off, we don’t have internet yet (hopefully soon); we just have our cell phones, so our updates have been a little infrequent lately. But we are alive. We found a house to rent and moved in about three weeks ago. We have all our stuff, but we don’t really have any furniture yet, so the house feels pretty empty. We have all the appliances we need (fridge, AC’s, washing machine), though, and things are starting to feel a little bit more normal.

We haven’t started language study yet, but hopefully we can get going on that soon. Alisha continues to homeschool the kids, and something happened that I did not expect… Scout likes Math. She can be very stubborn and occasionally, difficult to work with. But lately, she has been doing better. Elroy doesn’t usually have an attitude problem with school, but he is very easily distracted from his work. Davis is still quite healthy and he is starting to make a variety of noises a lot more. He can almost roll over, too.

We also want to find a church to get involved in soon. There are plenty around, so it shouldn’t be hard. In the next week or so, we are planning to buy a motorcycle. Also, there are some other things that we haven’t had enough money to buy yet:

-couch set

-chairs for the front porch

-beds for the kids (we’ve been borrowing mattresses from some friends)

-skilsaw (so that we can make some of our own smaller furniture items)

-car (this is a long-term one… we hope to have enough to buy a car within about a year. the one we want will probably be in the $7000-10000 range)

Thanks for your prayers and financial help!
