Bik Bung reunion

16 June, 2007 by

What do you get when you add a hundred MKs from PNG and a camp ground in Wisconsin together? Bik Bung Reunion!

Last weekend, 7-10 June, we gathered with alumni and former staff of Numonohi Christian Academy at Camp Awana in Wisconsin for a ‘Bik Bung Reunion’.

Numonohi Christian Academy is the school run by New Tribes Mission in Papua New Guinea where we worked from 1987-2005.

Highlights were all the wonderful "hello’s" and conversations catching up, meeting new friends – spouses and children of alumni – recreating field day and preparing a ‘mumu’ – a ‘mumu’ is a traditional PNG method of cooking food in the ground.

Thanks to those who had the vision and determination to organize and make this event happen. I hope it is the first of many.
