ELIM Retreats (Encouraging Leaders In Ministry) is run by Henry and Diane Stewart in conjunction with Barnabas International an organization committed to providing encouragement to God’s servants through Going, Listening, Speaking and Giving.
That was certainly our experience from 17-22 June when we enjoyed a completely free retreat on the shore of Lake Huron at the top of Michigan’s ‘thumb’. Right from the beginning when we were shown to our quaint farmhouse where we stayed for the week we enjoyed a peacefulness and rest.
The schedule was very laid back with some morning Bible sessions, enjoying meals with the other participants and staff and a cookout and worship time hosted by a local church. However, there was ample time to be alone with God, walk beside the lake and even take in a round of golf.
