God Has Not Forgotten Them

Thirtyone years ago, Katy and I packed everything we owned in a couple of duffles, took our 6 month old son, Jeremy, and joined 2 other missionary families to live among the Embera and teach God’s Word in their heart language. After 3 hard years, amid health and visa difficulities, all 3 families were reassigned to other minintries in the USA and Colombia.

Approximately 10 years later, NTM sent 3 more families to reach the Embera of Colombia. However, only one year into their ministry, their homes ransacked, the missionaries were sent away with orders not to return. Consequently, one missionary family, moved to continue working with the Embera abroad.

Now, this Colombian missionary family and two tribal families are returning to Colombia’s Embera. Equipped with the heart language and years of church planting experience, this team will at last ‘expand the reach of the gospel to Colombia’s 30 thousand Embera’.

Pray for God’s protection and guidance. Pray for the finances needed to accomplish this great task. Pray for all three families to walk faithfully and courageously in this dark place and boldly share the light of God’s Word with those who have waited so long to know His Truth.

Katy and I are so excited to know that God has not forgotten these dear people. Will you remember them as well?
