For the last six months Bisorio church leaders have been faithfully teaching in the last Bisorio village to be reached with the gospel message. Now this village and it’s people are ready to hear the gospel presentation.
Some of you may remember a short video called "Each Stick had a Name," that was made in the mid 80’s. The Gospel was first presented in Bisorio in 1981, and our first priority was to establish and disciple the new believers so we were not ready to begin another outreach when Gilimase came. As he threw down each stick, he called out the names of the people in his village, who would die and go to hell if someone did not come to teach them. The people in Gilimase’s village later came and told us that they had their own god "Dinaiya", who appeared to them, gave them their own language and told them not to listen to the white man’s talk, so they didn’t need someone to come anymore. The people of Gilimase’s village have since been very antagonistic to the gospel.
Bisorio church leaders have made it a priority to see churches planted among all the Bisorio villages. They have prayed for the people at Gilmase’s village, who are the last group of Bisorios to hear the gospel. God has answered their prayers and honored their steps of faith and perseverance as the grip of Satan has been very strong over the years. Six months ago the teaching began and this week they will hear of Christ’s gift of salvation by His death, burial and resurrection for the first time.
Please PRAY for the people to listen well, understand clearly, AND BELIEVE in Christ’s gift of redemption for them. PRAY for the Bisorio bible teachers, “that utterance may be given, that they may open their mouths boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel ….” PRAY that Satan will be bound from keeping the people in darkness. This is his last stronghold in Bisorio land and he will not give it up without a fight.
If all goes well the gospel will be presented on Saturday or Sunday March 10th or 11th. THANK YOU FOR PRAYING.
