You Could Hear the Weariness Melt Away

January 30, 2009 by

Katy Encourages Missionary Women in Brazil

Tribal missionary women, dressed in their finest, joyfully climbed down from the two city buses that brought them to our banquet location.  We had prepared everything with utmost attention to delight, encourage and pamper the missionary ladies.

The tables were set with flowers, gifts and the best china we could muster in that remote location. The buffet was lavishly prepared with  eye-catching delights as even the restaurant staff caught the excitement of making this a memorable night for these hard working missionary women.

I wish you could have heard the lively chatter and laughter that rang around the banquet hall and warmed my heart. You could hear the weariness melt away.

One young single Brazilian missionary lady said it best, "I feel like I have been hugged by Jesus" she told me. ‘You were’, I replied.

All the work and effort to take a team overseas to minister to missionary families was worth it. The 5 day VBS for missionary children, Banquet & Tea events for the women and a shopping Boutique with free items for the missionary families was a huge success.

We went to bless but came back blessed as we heard their testimonies and saw their shining faces while they serenaded us the night before we left.

Thank you for this opportunity to encourage over 90 missionary families. Pray this interlude of refreshment will stay with them and find it’s way into the harsh tribal locations where they faithfully minister God’s love to tribal peoples.
