Literacy Graduates

“He did it! I’m privileged to be a vessel God used, but He gets the glory!” Lisa Kappeler praised. Yes, God is at work among the Uriai.

The village was abuzz with excitement and anticipation. Seven months of diligent teaching, amidst interruptions, arguments and jesting, cumulated in 20 grinning students who stood proudly to receive their literacy certificates. They are the first in their line of descendents to read their own language!

Impulsively hugged by the shyest student, praised in public by the village leader, Lisa stood amazed at what God is doing. “They kept asking to read the Bible portions I brought”, Lisa relates. “ It gives me goose bumps to think about it!”

NTM consultants with translator, Lisa Kappeler, recently checked all the Bible portions needed to teach the Uriai people from creation to Christ. They are cleared and ready to print! Yes, your prayers are making a difference. Soon the Uriai people of Papua New Guinea, will hear the gospel presented for the first time in their language. That means that the 20 new graduates can read along as missionary, co-worker E teaches through those verses!

Coming Soon: Pray for missionaries, Lisa Kappeler and E and J as they prepare to teach the Uriai people God’s Talk.
