35 years ago, God gave us a son…

December 11, 2010 by Macon and Katy Hare

Christmas 2010, our son, Jeremy shared the joy of a family that has grown beyond the bounds of 35 years of separation.  His search began 5 years ago and culminated last month when he found his deceased birth mother’s sister, Marta, her address and phone number. That very day he talked with his cousin, Andres, who informed Jeremy that he had 3 siblings, aunts,  uncles and cousins. Soon Jeremy was on Facebook and Skype with 2 brothers,  a sister and more cousins than we can count.  Anxious to meet his biological family, Jeremy hopped a plane from Guam to Colombia SA.  Judy, Natania, Thalia, Macon and I joined him the next week where we celebrated Thanksgiving with my sister and husband, Wayne and Patsy Gibson in Bogota.

As one aunt shared, ” This is the best Christmas present we could have ever hoped for.”
