Katy and her cohorts in Bogota accomplishing some big first tasks. Aly (Aleyda) returned to Colombia after 10 years to visit her Colombian family and to get her Colombian ID (Cedula) and her Colombia Passport. Took a couple days but all went well. Did you know in Colombia you can apply for passport one day – and pick up your new passport the next morning. Why cant we do that in the USA?
Medicine has been a major issue for Katy. Insulin prices are so expensive that her medical insurance for medicine runs out in June. That leaves the rest of the year with very expensive purchase. We checked and while in Bogota she was able to purchase her insulin at about 1/5 the price.
Visiting with our missionary and Colombian friends is always a treat as well. Colombia was our home for more than 25 years.
And finally, yes we can fly back and forth to Colombia for free because our son in an Airline pilot. Have to fly standby — but it works great for trips around the world.
