Matthew 6:19, “Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal,” and where cars slam on their breaks on the highway and total your car…
Ok, that last part isn’t in there :). However, yes friends, it is true. We are now without a car, and so we just wanted to make you, our supporters, aware of our need. If you are able, would you consider sending a special gift this month to help us buy a new vehicle? You can do so at ntm.org/matt_long/give and let us know it is for our car.
The passage I quoted above goes on to say, “but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also” (Matt. 20-21). We are thankful for you, our supporters, who give your hard-earned money faithfully each month so that some people who have never heard about Christ can have an opportunity to know Him. You are storing up treasures in heaven! A few weeks ago, Matt had the opportunity to share with high school students about this idea of sending missionaries through prayer and finances. Matt spoke at Raccoon River Bible Camp for a week, sharing with students about God’s heart for missions. He shared the quote “Go, Send, or Disobey” with them, explaining that those are the only three options for a Christian when it comes to world missions. Christ has commanded us all to be involved in making His name known to the nations. For some of us, this involvement means going overseas as a missionary; for others this means supporting missionaries. God was really at work that week, and many students shared with Matt that they never realized before that God cares so much about missions, and that missions is something for every Christian to be involved in, throughout their whole lives. Praise God for the work He did in students’ lives that week!
Another really cool thing that happened this month is that we got an e-mail from a church saying that they have been praying about supporting a missionary who is going to a tribe that has never heard the gospel, and they are hoping to support us! Please thank God with us for this big unexpected blessing, and please pray that the Lord will use us to be a blessing to this church as well, helping them to get excited about missions, and mutually encouraging one another.
God has been showing us so much this month about trusting Him. He is in control, and He is so good.
Till all know,

Please Pray:
– That God would provide more people to join our support team, as it has been harder to get appointments lately.
– There is another church that we are hoping will support us
– For a friend of ours who is struggling spiritually
Praise God:
– Many students at camp were challenged to be involved in missions in some way, either by going or sending
– For the new church that is probably going to support us!
– God provided some extra money for us last month from an anonymous donor. Whoever you are, thank you!!!
