Supporting Tribal Church Planting
Papua New Guinea
God loves us and wants to have a relationship with us. He wants us to be with Him in heaven forever. However, each of us has sinned and fallen short of God’s perfect standard, so none of us can earn heaven. Thankfully Jesus died for us, taking the punishment for our sin, so that all we have to do is believe He died for us, confess our sin and need for Him, and ask Him to be our Savior and Lord. It’s wonderful news!
However, did you know that there are still many people who have never heard about Jesus and what He has done for them? There are whole people groups with no Bibles, no churches, and no Christians who speak their language! In order for them to hear about Christ, missionaries need to move into their villages, learn their language and culture, translate the Bible into their language, teach them to read, and then teach them God’s Word! Then, those missionaries need to continue to disciple them so that they can reach others. It is a huge job!
They can’t do it alone! That’s where we come in. Over the past seven years, we have served in various support roles to enable missionaries to survive and thrive in their remote villages. A few of those roles have been teaching at the school for missionary kids, serving on the director board, and doing member care. Currently our passion is caring for missionaries spiritually and emotionally, and this is why Matt is working on getting his counseling degree. Missionaries serve in difficult situations, far from their support structures and homes, and they need support as they serve in ministry. In Ezekiel 34 God talks about His heart for His people to be shepherded and cared for when they are weak and struggling, so they will not be easy prey for Satan. That’s our heart- to care for God’s people as they bring His Word to the ends of the earth!
We can’t do it alone! That’s where you come in. Will you pray for us? Will you support us financially to enable us to be in Papua New Guinea? Will you share with others about the need? Let us know if you would like to join our team!
