“This Changes Everything”

March 24, 2016 by Matt and Karissa Long

We had a wonderful time at First Baptist Church's missions weekend.  We love you FBC!  Thanks for being our sending church!

March Update
“Did I miss something? Was I not supposed to cry? Did they hear the preacher, “Jesus is alive!”? If this is true, this changes everything…”

“And if Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins… But Christ has indeed been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep.” – 1 Cor. 15:17 &20

How important is Easter? There is nothing more important! Christ died for our sins and rose from the dead. What Easter means for us:

Jesus died to take the punishment for our sins. He fully paid for them. There is nothing else for us to do to earn salvation. The resurrection shows that Jesus’ death was enough.
Jesus rose from the dead. This shows us that He has conquered death, and we too will live again.
If we admit our need for Him, believe that He died for us and rose again, and let Him be Lord of our lives, we will be fully forgiven and live forever in heaven with God. Guaranteed.
The same power that raised Christ from the dead is available to us to enable us to live for Him.

“…If this is real, I’ve got to tell the world. If He is God, then I’ve got a choice to make. If I believe, then I must follow Him.” – Matt Papa, “This Changes Everything.”

I hope you have a wonderful Easter celebrating the event that truly changed everything, once and for all.

Take a minute to watch Paiye of the Moi tribe in Papua New Guinea telling the Easter story in his own words. Our hope is that soon everyone in the Umeda tribe will have a chance to hear the Easter story too. Here is the link:

In Christ,

Please Pray:
That all would go well as we work on our Visa applications
For someone that Karissa has been witnessing to, that her heart would be open to God’s truth and that she would be willing to talk with Karissa about it
That God would be provide the right people for us to partner with when we get to Papua New Guinea
Praise God:
He answered your prayers for our boys to sleep well while we traveled. They slept better than they ever have, even at home. You must’ve been praying!
We had a great trip visiting Grace Bible Church!
We are 73% funded!
All four of us got our passports!
We have another supporting church! (Thanks, Chico EFC!)
