“FIVE WEEKS! That’s FOREVER away!” Wyck declared when I told him we were leaving for America soon. He feels like it’s hard to wait that long, and I feel like it’s coming way too soon as I have lots to do before then. |

“Look, I am coming soon, bringing my reward with me to repay all people according to their deeds.” -Rev.22:12 |
Jesus is coming soon! It could be any day! And yet, it could be quite a while yet. I have been talking to my Bible class about this concept. We discussed the parable of the unfaithful servant, in which the master came back sooner than expected, and found his servant not prepared. We also discussed the parable of the ten virgins, in which the bridegroom took longer to arrive than expected, and some were not prepared to wait. We need to live in eager expectation, being ready for Jesus to return any day, and yet we must also live responsible lives, being prepared in case His coming isn’t as soon. Preparing for home assignment feels a little like that. I need to start packing and cleaning, because it is coming up, but there are also things I can’t pack and clean yet, because I still need to use them. I am excitedly making plans for while we are in America, but I also need to be fully invested in my ministry and relationships here, because we still have five weeks. It is a weird in-between time, but such is life living in-between two worlds. So please pray for our ministries here, that we would finish well. Pray for Matt in his director at large role. He arrived back from Thailand today, where he and other leaders from NTM PNG and Ethnos360’s global partners met together, learning about the topics of leadership and multicultural teams. It was a beneficial time of learning, and Matt was able to share the conflict resolution plan that he developed for our field. Pray for Karissa as she finishes up this last term, teaching her students about the epistles in Bible class and giving speeches in English class. Pray that we can finish well and do a good job loving those around us in our member care role. Also, please pray for our upcoming home assignment. Pray that Matt would get a counseling internship for the fall. Pray that all his paperwork would be accepted for his master’s program at Liberty, especially some fingerprinting which we hope was done correctly and arrived in the U.S. Pray for us as we pack, clean, and say goodbyes. Pray for us as we make plans to homeschool, buy a car, and re-set up our home. Till all know, Matt, Karissa, Ty, and Wyck |
Please Pray: -For Matt’s paperwork to all go through -For Matt to get an internship set up soon -For our kids as they say goodbye to friends -That we can finish well -For many details to fall into place -For a good couple to step into the member care role when we leave Praise God: -Matt’s trip was beneficial -Matt was able to present at the conference -Karissa and the boys did ok while he was gone -We found people to care for our cats while we are gone -Ty’s asthma continues to be well managed -Karissa’s headaches continue to be well managed ![]() ![]() Matt presenting at the conference in Thailand. Our orientation group 7 years ago and now. ![]() What are we supporting? This month’s tribal focus: Pray for the Iski church, which was planted 7 years ago. They have taught through the Bible twice in the past year in their main village, resulting in 60 new believers! Now the Iski Bible churches are preparing to do an outreach in three Iski-speaking villages down the river. Their hearts are also burdened for a different tribe close to them. Pray for them to develop a good strategy for this. Praise God for the Iski believers who are desiring to make God’s Word known to the Iski people and beyond! |
