Summer 2025 Update

Graveley News
The last year and a half… has been 7 months of medical leave to get rid of the two types of mold in my lungs, and to rid my body of Lyme Disease. Followed by 11 months of visiting my churches, talking with field leadership and mission leadership, improving my lung strength, and resting. It was decided that when I returned to Brasil that I would not be going back to PQQ. The mold situation is something that  my body just can’t handle anymore. So, I am trying a new area in Brasil. It was decided in December of 2024 that I would join the East Brasil team and work at the Brasilian Mission Headquarters
in Anápolis, Goáis Brasil. I started praying for a good apartment close to the mission base, since I knew that there was no housing availible on the base. In Febuary some friends of mine told me that they were moving to a new town and asked if I wanted to rent their apartment. It is about a mile from the mission. So I said yes.
In April I was able to close on this apartment. I decided to return to the field a month early so that I could make the move. My parents flew with Davi and me on May 27th down to Anápolis, and got to see my new apartment. After a quick three days we flew to Manaus to pack up my house there and to say goodbye to the teams serving there. While at Pqq it was apparent that the climate and air was not good for my lungs and some days were harder than others. However, after a short week we returned to Anápolis. My parents stayed another week then returned to the US. Since they have left, I have been getting things from Manaus sanitized and demolded using an ozone machine, and setting up the house.
Davi and I are adjusting to life in the city, and not being surrounded my other missionaries. I also have to find all new places to shop and get supplies.I will be starting my new ministry on the 21st of July. I was suppose to start today, but things did not work out for my boss to train me until the 21st, thankfully giving us more time to settle in.  Please continue to pray for us as we adjust to this new life. Pray for my lungs as we will be walking/strollering to the mission until my lungs are strong enough to bike there, they struggle the last 100ft or so. Pray for us as we adjust to the culture and language, and time difference. -Misty and Davi

Davi is enjoying playing in the playgrounds at our apartment, and the mall. He loves his cars, and is finally adjusting to a few people here in town. He is experiencing Culture shock and is struggling with hearing Portuguese all the time. Davi just turned 3, and we will have a party next month when he is a little more adjusted. He continues to grow like a weed. He loves cars and trains. He loves to paint, and hear stories.
