Thank you for praying! We made it back to Papua New Guinea and are all slowly recovering from colds, coughs and time changes. I can now say it is “good” to be back – now that the good-byes are behind me. Unfortunately that never gets easier.
A brand new evangelistic teaching started among the Tigak this week. There are over 20 young people attending which is very encouraging. Pray that everyone would faithfully attend and clearly understand the Gospel as they are taught four times a week over a period of about four months. We are praying for the Lord to grow our core group of believers and raise up leaders and teachers from among the young adult Tigaks.
Here is part of Aimee’s update on the teaching: “GREAT potential among this group. Thinking about how the Lord could use these guys in the years to come gets me excited. A believing couple decided to buy a bunch of notebooks for everyone, and almost all of them have been eagerly copying down the main points off the blackboard. Sweet. It is a long haul for them to stick with, and many things will start (or continue) to pull on them to draw them away. As believers, we know that the time invested in understanding the TRUTH regarding salvation is absolutely invaluable. Pray this starts to become clear to them as well, and that they would come faithfully. Pray, pray, pray!”
Critical Shortage of Teachers in PNG for the 2015-2016 School Year
We also have a prayer request for teachers at Zachary’s school for the 2015-2016 school year. There is always a need for more high school teachers but this year there is also a huge need for elementary teachers. Our biggest need for high school is an English teacher (but also many other openings). Applications must be received by the end of March.
This may be a wonderful opportunity for you or a friend you know who is a teacher and would like to serve on the mission field.
NTM-PNG has put together two videos in order to present the big picture of why we need educators and how they fit into our church development team! Here are the links to the videos:
