Thank you for praying for our church conference this past week! It was a great time of reunions and encouragement for the believers from five different tribes/language groups. Just getting everyone to our island was quite a challenge. Two of the tribes had their transportation fall through at the last minute due to persecution within one of the tribes. They were praising the Lord that they were able to line up another ride for a lower price and drive all night long to get to the conference. The first teaching session was delayed until everyone arrived. The tribe that traveled the farthest had several hours on the ocean, a day of driving and another 30 minutes by boat to arrive on our island. Next year the conference will probably take place at this tribe so our believers will be making this trip to get to their village.
We were also very thankful that we had rain leading up to the conference so we had full tanks to provide for all the visitors. It is predicted that the dry time will continue for some months yet but the Lord has provided in our area.
It was a joy to see the believers serve each other and teach each other. We tried to leave as much as possible in their hands. We want to see the conferences continue in the years to come when there are no “white skins” present to help organize.
The conference ended yesterday and today our family flew to another town to begin a translation check. We would appreciate your prayers over the next two weeks of very long days of work. Also, please be praying that all the helpers would arrive on the days they are needed! I’ll give you all the details in our next update.
