We are thankful for the ministries the Lord has given us to do this year. It has been a blessing for Linn to work with homeschool moms in providing them with the resources they need for teaching their kids. Ned is busy preparing for a translation check for a people group that has just been presented with the Gospel for the first time. Please be praying for them as they process what they have learned and make a decision to accept or reject the God of the Bible. They are very entrenched in a cargo cult that teaches that one day they will be given “lots of stuff”. The Gospel of Christ is presenting something totally new to them and they have a life and death decision to make regarding where they will place their faith.
Plans are continuing to move forward for the Tigak outreach. Continue to pray for the Tigak believers as they make decisions and set up a timeline.
Pray for Ned as he is stretched thin with translation and teaching responsibilities. We continue to be so grateful for this time we have with our kids as we minister in the Highlands of PNG. Ned has volunteered to be the assistant coach for the school’s basketball team. So he is teaching Christina Algebra 2 and Zachary basketball. Basketball is something Ned really enjoys but can’t play as much as he would like with the aches and pains that come once you turn 50. It is nice for him to do something he enjoys during his down time.
Continue to pray for more teachers at the school here in PNG. Here is a link to a video showing how the school aids in church planting in PNG – https://vimeo.com/ntminpng/teamwork For teachers interested in coming to PNG this is a longer video sharing what it is like to teach at Numonohi Christian Academy – https://vimeo.com/116837472 Every time I have helped with anything at the school or done substitute teaching – the kids always thank me for helping or teaching or helping out. I have many times thought that teachers in public schools probably rarely get a thank you from their students! We are blessed! Another critical need in PNG at this time is some construction/maintenance/handyman type people. There are several areas around PNG that are in desperate need of someone to keep the facilities running! Please pass these needs on if you know of someone that might be interested in short or long term missions.
