We are so thankful for the time we have had in the USA and the memories we have been able to make! Garrett was part of a 12U homeschool basketball team this year. Garrett and Christina were part of a real AWANA club which is a lot more fun than how we usually do AWANA on our own in the tribe. Christina actually helped with Cubbies at our AWANA and helped my parents with Sparks at their church. Christina was able to have a real job at our local Chick-fil-a. AND we were able to celebrate Bethany graduating from college! She graduated from Liberty online with a degree in Christian Counseling so she didn’t actually fly to Virginia for her graduation. We are amazed that she was able to complete her degree in four years while doing a great job as a wife and mother of 2. This was also my first Mother’s Day to spend in the USA in 10 years!! It was such a blessing to have SIX of my kids here with me for the day. There are so many “little” things we miss out on when we live on the other side of the world so we don’t take it for granted when we get to have family time.
Please be praying for our kids as they transition back to life in PNG. Especially remember Garrett as he will be on his own in the tribe for most of the next year. He had a year as an only child a couple of years ago and it wasn’t easy for him. Pray for Zachary as he will be living in the USA without his parents this coming year. He is doing great and has siblings and grandparents as a support system but there will be an adjustment time.
Ned has now finished the initial drafting of the Tigak New Testament! There is a lot more work to do when he actually gets to the tribe but it is a huge accomplishment. He is now drafting the remaining parts of Genesis. This is the book he started on when he first began to translate but didn’t complete it.
Thank you for continuing to pray for our house in the tribe. We just heard our water pump has disappeared. We are thankful to know this BEFORE we leave the USA so we can buy one and pack it in our luggage. Pray that if there are any other major items like this that we should bring back with us that we would somehow think to buy them. 🙂
We appreciate your prayers and support. It is certainly a team effort to keep us growing a church among the Tigak!
