Just a quick update to let you all know where our adoption process is right now. Our daughter’s visa interview with the US Embassy is on September 24th! After that if all goes well, the US Embassy will print her visa right away and we can go get her! Best case scenario is that we will go the first week of October. We would appreciate your prayers since we do need to prove that we were in process before her country temporarily suspended all adoptions. All we have is one letter that proves this. We have not heard back from immigration if that is sufficient proof. I don’t know if I had mentioned it here of not but her country temporarily suspended adoptions this spring so that they could go through the process of becoming a Hague Convention country. Basically it means that they want to get “up to snuff” on all the legal/ ethical procedures of adoption.
If for some reason the US Embassy chooses not to consider our case as “pre suspension” (which we feel certain it is), we will need to wait until the suspension is lifted to pick up our daughter (no idea when that may be but it has been said that it may lift in October anyway).
Big brothers are anxious and will be traveling with us. They even started homeschool a month early so that they can take a month off with little sis. Hopefully my next post will be bringing you news of her printed visa and our travel plans! Thank you for all your plans.
