“I believe the Bible is the best gift God has ever given to man. All the good from The Savior of the world is communicated to us through this Book.”― Abraham Lincoln
Have you ever “googled” how many English translations and partial translations exist of the Bible? The short answer: hundreds! We are a privileged people and so often we take this for granted. This month, dear friends of ours are celebrating the completion of the New Testament and major sections of the Old Testament in the language of the tribe that they worked with for years until that country forced them to leave. While outside of the tribal village, their team took on the task of finishing the translation which is so necessary for the maturing young church! Why do missionaries put in thousands of hours of Bible translation, sometimes remotely working with consultants and native speakers, sometimes working through sickness other obstacles? Because these are the Words of Life! Do we grow without God’s Word? Neither will these brothers and sisters over the ocean! So, not only will our team be teaching through the Bible, but we will not be finished the work in Papua New Guinea until the villagers can read their language and have copies of God’s Word. It is a monumental task. Why do this? If we were unreached and our children and our grandchildren…we would want this done for us! We, as parents, spend years teaching our children this way…we want to teach others thoroughly also!

What Have We Been Up To?
Our family just returned from a whirlwind tour of Florida and Washington DC for meetings, speaking engagements, visiting with friends and a little vacationing. The kids are finishing up March at their school here in Ontario and Paul is finishing up his leadership internship. We are preparing for our “big move” back to Vermont on April 2nd.
