the beginnings

June 3, 2010 by Payton and Grace Downing

It is the beginning of summer here in Colorado. My garden is growing just enough lettuce and spinach for a snack, not quite yet enough for a salad (but I am confident that it will get there, hopefully soon!). I had debated whether or not to even start a garden this year because I knew we’d be moving out of our dear Hobbit House at the Glen. I am very glad I did. I am fully convinced that without dirt to dig into, I’d be quite lost. So, as our time at the Hobbit House ended, the garden began.

And only nine weeks from now, as our time in Colorado ends, a new chapter of school begins! It was this, the the series of beginnings and endings, that prompted Payton and I to start a blog. We got to thinking that all of this school, different phases of training, and moving was becoming a bit confusing. Payton decided that this might allow everyone to keep track of our whereabouts and what we were up to. I agreed.

So, here it is.

Great! Yes I think this will be a good way of keeping track of your escapades!
