It’s true. We have had piles of homework! Just this morning I finished all of the homework for 1 Corinthians class, which may sound like I’m being a goody-two-shoes getting it done a week in advance. But, the truth is, our teacher graciously cut out 3 chapters of homework–I wanted to have all of next week to be packed and ready for Colorado! I still have other homework, but the burden has been relieved. We did have some good times in between all of the laborious grammar studies. We went to The Parlour for our last Married’s Social of the year. Payton ate waaaaayyy too much ice cream and felt sick for a few hours–I’ve never seen him eat that much ice cream!! The ice cream was quite a spectacle to say the least.
Payton had a bit of work at the end of last week. He also helped with some tree work at the neighbors, which kept him busy. We headed to downtown Detroit for some coney dogs as a Mother’s Day lunch (Mom’s idea after I mentioned how I’d been thinking about them–you can’t get a good coney in Colorado, probably because they are bad for you). It was John’s first time eating them, but somehow I didn’t get John in one of the pictures. Oops!

And my little sis just started Drivers Ed! I still think she’s 10 years old in my head–my first thought is, “A 10 year old shouldn’t be driving!” It’s like she’s stuck a that age (Does anyone else do that with their siblings? ). Yes, she has grown since then and matured and has holes in her ears now, but my brain just won’t update that part of her file! It’s been good to watch all of them change over the last 9 months or so.
We’re sweating it out here in Michigan with our first high temp of 86 F. Our apartment is much warmer! There’s plenty to do over the next week or so between packing and cleaning and homework. Keep us in your prayers.
