1 DOWN, 69 TO GO!

February 21, 2011 by Phil and Elin Henderson

We taught our first Bible lesson today! We have been preparing for this day for a long time and we thank the Lord that it has finally come. Praise the Lord that the first lesson is complete and seemed to go well.

A small group attended, not nearly as many as we had hoped and prayed for. Our first lesson happened to coincide with a big ceremony in the community so many people who said they would come didn’t.  Tomorrow, hopefully, more people will come.

One old guy stood up at the end of the meeting and said: “Do you remember the day the Phil gave a party at his house? Do you remember how many people attended? It was a lot of people that came to eat bread and drink juice at his house. We who are here today need to go and tell our neighbors and family to come to the teaching. This is important. If they were there eating his food that day they should be here listening to what he says today.” Of course we know that the people who didn’t come will need something other than a guilt-trip to make them want to come and listen.

Please pray that those who attended the first lesson will be faithful to attend all the lessons (about 69 more). Pray also that many of the people who didn’t come will begin attending.
