On Friday morning a sizable group of people showed up to begin work on a shelter. With rainy season in full swing it seemed prudent to build something so we have a place to hide under if it starts raining during our teaching sessions. The village leaders also thought it could serve as a shelter for the literacy program as well. Part of the crew that showed up worked on the shelter and the other part of the crew worked on clearing out the remaining stumps in the area where the teaching takes place. Next week people promised to bring coconut fronds to cover the shelter with.
Praise that the work has begun on a shelter. Praise that there was good participation in the project.
