MINISTRY TOOL – MP3 PLAYERS

March 12, 2011 by Phil and Elin Henderson

One of the main tools we have been using for reviewing the teaching are mp3 players. We have about 17 used mp3 players in circulation. We record each teaching session and at the end of the week then load them onto the machines along with the previous lessons and the audio of the related scriptures. At the end of the week the people who attend the teaching decide who should receive a player. They create a list and I hand out the players to the people on the list. The priority is the old and the sick who have not been able to attend the teaching. They can listen to them over the weekend and then they bring them back to the first session on Monday. We recharge them and have them ready to go again after the last session on Thursday.

The players are a huge hit. People love them. At the end of the first week, one guy reported that at one sitting he played the week’s lessons for a group of 53 people. It is a great review tool and a way to share what we are teaching with other people. Several people showed up this week to attend the teaching sessions who said they are coming because they got interested after hearing the recordings at their neighbor’s house. One older lady reported this week that she gathers her family around and they all sit together and listen to the recordings.

Please pray that these recordings will help people remember what they have heard and that they will generate more interest in coming to hear the teaching.
