This past week we continued with the ongoing review lessons. This includes taking stories we have covered in the past and applying them to present truths. This is very helpful in addressing the ongoing questions and issues that many are facing and feeling as they process this new “teaching”. Since the beginning they have been telling us (both major religious groups) that what we are teaching is just the same as what they believe, but now they cannot avoid realizing that there are some serious differences. We have been telling them all along that God’s word is like a plumb line with which we measure all other things. Everyone has been saying that their religion’s wall was built using the plumb line of God’s word and now we have taken the plumb line, held it against the wall and the disparity is clear for all to see. Now they are left with a choice. They can either say “Hey, my wall is crooked” or “Hey, this plumb line must be broken.”. Many are starting to realize things don’t line up. This presents a big challenge for them – which will they throw out?
Pray for those who have concluded that they will trust what God’s word says that they will hold fast to the Truth. Pray also for those who continue to come and listen but haven’t necessarily made a firm choice. Pray for understanding and truth to penetrate the confusion.
More than ever people are coming and asking for the media players to hear more about the teaching. This new message is the “talk of the town” and they want to know what it is we have been teaching. We are just now starting to tell people that the media players with old lessons will soon be put away and those who want to hear will have to ask those who understand the message already or will have to wait for the next time we do the teaching. We keep saying that God gives the job of telling others the Good News to PEOPLE and NOT to media players. Media players are a supplement for face to face presentation. Now there are people who know the Good News in the community so if people want to learn about the teaching they should go and ask those who know about it.
Pray for those who are listening to the Lessons and Word of God for the first time. Pray that the Holy Spirit will work in their hearts and they will see their personal need for a Savior. Pray for those who use the media players for review and “catch up” that they too will fully embrace the reality of Christ and their need for Him.
This upcoming week we will continue to present review lessons twice a week (Monday and Thursday). After that we will be taking a break for a few weeks. When we come back from our break we will begin teaching only once a week. This week we will be reviewing teachings from Jesus’s ministry, topics like being born again, Jesus as the one door, and Jesus as the true shepherd, etc.
Pray also for our partner’s the Hattinghs as they arrived in South Africa this week to begin their 9 month home assignment.
