MEETING FOR PROSPECTIVE LITERACY STUDENTS

September 25, 2011 by Phil and Elin Henderson

On Friday, we had our first official meeting for our upcoming literacy class. We will be starting on Tuesday this next week and studying 4 days a week for approximately 3 months. It will be a fast class and we plan to cover 2 lessons a day! All of those interested in the class came and were officially registered. We were able to decide on different things like what time to meet, the rules of the class, etc. Overall we are very encouraged to see this group of 7 (potentially 8) showing initiative in learning to read and write their language. Among them are 3 community leaders, 2 (potentially 3) women, a local clan leader, and a man who has been very faithful in attending the Bible teaching. In fact every one of those registered has also been attending the Bible teaching since the beginning, some with more regularity than others.

Pray that these 7-8 students will be faithful in coming and will be able move forward in developing their reading and writing skills.
