Following our teaching on Monday, a mixed group of men and women, young and old, diverse in religion, met together for the first time to discuss how they can begin studying God’s word together and applying the truths they are hearing. While they still have miles to go, this huge first step is an answer to the prayers of many who have been lifting up the Mwinika people over the past years.
Nothing definite was decided, instead they set a time to meet together and plan together regarding how they want to move forward. Phil left them with some ideas and then we were off on our short break to Malawi. They were to meet on Wednesday and decide these things together. When we return in 2 weeks we will find out what the final outcome was. While we would have liked to be there, we realize that this is a good step for them to take on their own and when we return we can offer support and guidance as needed.
So, praise the Lord together with us for this work that He is doing in the hearts of these young believers. Continue to pray that they will grow in their knowledge of Him and that they will develop a sense of identity found only in Him.
