LATE NIGHT VISITOR

February 28, 2012 by Phil and Elin Henderson

Since I (Phil) have a cold, I had a hard time sleeping last night. I got up around 2am to check on the kids and get a drink of water. First I killed a scorpion in Callie’s room and then went into the kitchen to get a drink. I found this guy on the kitchen counter. I am not sure how he got there and let’s just say it was a bit of a surprise. When I tried to kill it he decided to station himself on the cookie sheet of oatmeal that Elin had left out to remove the creepy crawlies in it (who knew an even bigger one would climb in!). Of course after I was done with the snake the oatmeal was no longer usable. In the morning the guys said it was a snake called “evili” (apparently a type of viper?) and according to them it is “very dangerous.” Elin decided this morning that we needed to do a thorough cleaning of all our cupboards in case any more of them might be hiding in the house. I am happy to report that none were found!

Praise the Lord for His protection.
