NOVEMBER 2013 UPDATE

November 13, 2013 by Phil and Elin Henderson

It has been a busy month for us. Phil just returned from his meetings in South East Asia. He had a great time connecting with folks over there and sharing ideas. (see pictures) Praising the Lord for His protection and guidance. Life just keeps on keeping on for the kids and me here in Florida. Having them in two different schools with different drop off and pick up times keeps me hopping, not to mention the homework and keeping up with teachers from both facilities. Fortunately the soccer and tennis seasons are coming to a close as the cooler weather descends upon us so life should slow down a little until the spring. (see pictures) Callie continues with therapy and while we have our ups and downs in learning, we continue to trust the Lord for progress for her. God is opening up opportunities for friendships and discipleship for me here. I’m thankful that ministry is not dependent on location but rather on availability. I am trusting that God will use the time I have for His glory! Last weekend I was able to attend a weekend retreat with Beth Moore in Daytona Beach, FL. It was a wonderful time of refreshment and encouragement. Please pray for continued grace and strength for the kids and me over the next month. Next week Phil leaves for another big trip to Mozambique. He will not have much time to visit with the Mwinika on this trip as this trip is for different purposes. He will spend most of his time travelling around to visit the mission’s various ministry locations in the country. There has been some political unrest in Mozambique over the past month and elections are coming up in a few short weeks. Please pray for Phil and the others who will be travelling with him, that God will grant safety in travel and wisdom as they seek to help and encourage the missionaries there. Pray also for stability in the country. The new believers among the Mwinika continue to learn and grow in the Lord. Our partners in the village, Francois and Nadia, are hard at work preparing and teaching lessons and discipling new believers. They are very encouraged with how things are going. They have many exciting stories to share about what God is doing. Please check them out at www.ntm.org/francois_hattingh. Pray for the Hattinghs as they minister to the Mwinika people. Pray for the Mwinika believers as they continue to grow in the Lord and wrestle with the implications of their faith. In this season of thanksgiving, we are very thankful for your ongoing prayers and support in so many ways. Have a Happy Thanksgiving!
