Farewell…

January 16, 2013 by Promise Vaughan

Sunday was a very special day–Foothill Bible Church had a commissioning and send off for me in preparation for my leaving for Papua New Guinea this week. I enjoyed the service and the opportunity to say good-bye to many friends afterward.

The elders at Foothill Bible Church prayed for me as I was commissioned. They are representative of the church body at Foothill Bible Church–I would not be ready to leave at this time if it were not for their faithful support, encouragement, and prayers.

My awesome family who have been encouraging me and supporting me over the years as I prepared to go overseas.

My wonderful parents who have supported, encouraged, challenged, and prayed for me every step along the way as I have followed God’s leading to Papua New Guinea.

In the coming weeks, I would appreciate your prayers for safe flights with no missed connections, all luggage to arrive with me, quick recovery from jet-lag and adjustment to a new time zone, and good adjustment to my new home, routine, and language study. I’ll write again in a few weeks after I am settled in.
