Well, we've shared a bit about what last semester looked like and what we're expecting the next few weeks, but one thing we're finding is that many people aren't sure what a linguist is/what our purpose is and how we fit into a missionary team.

Anyhoo, this last semester has been so full of learning, most of which gets really technical and perhaps even (gasp!) boring to those who aren't of linguistic persuasion (bi-directional partial fusion anyone?). We, however, have really enjoyed the time getting to see how God designed languages that are so complicated, yet adhere to logical rules and systems that allow us to figure them out.

So, super exciting news, we've started toward a field! Not just any field, but the very beautiful, very needful country of Papua New Guinea. We've been praying about it for a while, and though we're still open should God choose to send us elsewhere, we feel like this door is one that is open for us.
