Off to a Flying Start!

September 1, 2008 by

Practicing some TPR which is basically learning to identify some everyday items in the tribal language.

Our third semester at the MTC is off to a flying start.  It has been great to get back here and reconnect with our friends here on staff as well as our fellow students.  It has also been fun getting to know some or our new partners in expanding the reach as 60+ new students joined our ranks here at the MTC.

Our semester started off with a visit from long time friend Henry Warren. I first met Henry as a new believer in California. Henry helped get my new walk with God off to a flying start. We were very encouraged by his visit.

Please be praying for God`s provision of this wonderful new aircraft. Helping to get our third semester off to a flying start has been a visit at the local airport in Camdenton from NTM’s latest tool in reaching the unreached, the Kodiak airplane, specially designed with missions in mind.

Kodiak Day also provided an opportunity to introduce the public to Culture and Language Acquisition techniques. Cirena joined missionary Margaret Birkemo in this process with visiting NTM supporter. Our first class of the semster is Culture and Language Acquistion.  This is a huge part of tribal evangelism and helps to set the stage for teaching Gods word later on.  CLA is also know as pre-evangelism.

Kodiak Day provided some fun for the kids which included face painting. Sheila seems to be pleased with the finished product. As for Sheila Marie, she is now well off to a flying start in 2nd Grade. Wow!  She has also started her second year of AWANA.  We are looking forward to celebrating her 7th birthday on September 28th.

We praise God for all of you that have continued to support us through this training process whether by prayer, financial support, encouragement, or all of the above.  For additional pics check out MTC Semester III on our photos page.
