Looking Forward to Sharing

As we prepare for our upcoming home assignment, we are excited for the opportuntity to share all that the Lord has done in and through our lives these past three years.  We are especially excited to share the vision God has given us for coming alongside of our co-workers in times of difficulty.  While this can be emotionally draining at times it can also be rewarding as we have an opportunity to help move the work forward throughout the Philippines.  Recently both Cirena and I had the privilege of attending a week long peer debriefing seminar, focused on helping our co-workers to deal with critical incident stress.  While these things do not happen every day, they do unfortunately happen from time to time and it’s important that we are prepared as much as possible to deal with it when it does happen. 

Beyond sharing in churches, with small groups, individuals and couples over the next three months, we are also looking forward to a unique 10-day training opportunity held in Idaho this September.  At $2,500 per attendee however, and due to other reasons also, Cirena will not be attending this training.  This is just one more training opportunity to help prepare us to come alongside of our co-workers in times of need.  It’s the kind of training one hopes they would never need, but then if that were the case, we wouldn’t live in a fallen world.
