How does one involve them-self in tribal ministry while living in a major metropolis? The truth is it’s all a matter of mindset. As one co-worker recently reminded us, ‘It’s kind of like watching a basketball game and watching the reaction of the crowd when one team scores a basket. One side roars with joy and excitement while the other groans with disappointment. Although both sides viewed the same event there were two different responses.’ The challenge thus is how to respond to what God is doing and how He is using us in the process. We can either roar with excitement or groan with disappointment. For me, I choose to roar with excitement just for the privilege of being part of the team. To that extent, each one of you can likewise roar with excitement as you have opportunity to be a part of seeing indigenous people reached for Christ through your faithful prayers, giving, and encouragement. What’s your mindset?
Praise & Prayer:
Praise God for new believers among the Brooks Point Palawano. These were the first people group we visited during our first term in 2003 and so it was with great excitement when we learned of the new believers there. Please pray for others that are still being taught.
Praise be to Him for first ever baptisms that took place recently among the Agutaynen believers. Please be in prayer for this people group as they are morning the sudden and unexpected loss of one of their prominent brothers in Christ. I am reminded of Enoch in Genesis 5:24.
We praise the Lord for the privilege of witnessing baptisms among the Tala-Andig during a visit to a couple of our tribal works in the south. Apparently this was the first baptism they have had in a number of years and many came from various outreaches to be baptized.
What a privilege it was also to enjoy worship and time in the word with Banwaon believers (I followed along in my English Bible with what they were teaching from Eph. 4:17-32). It was very encouraging to see many asking questions; not of the missionaries but from their own teachers.
Colossians 3

Living as Those Made Alive in Christ
3 Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God.2 Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. (BibleGateway.com)
