Our month started off with our Annual conference – always a special time for us, having lots of opportunities to listen to godly men share from the Word and catch up with our fellow missionaries in a very relaxing atmosphere – a coconut plantation. It is like being at camp again – boys in one cabin and girls in the other. One side benefit of that is that it helps us get to know missionaries from the other islands that we don’t see throughout the year.
Following Conference we stayed there for a couple extra days for a Seminar on Animism & Syncretism. Peter & Kathy Baker, our former Field Chairman and good friends, came over from Canada to teach this seminar. After the Conference we were able to go away with them for a couple of special days together.
That was followed by Rocky spending a couple of weeks with two future missionaries, George Olsen and Nathan Ingvoldstad. They came over to visit the different regions and get an idea of where they could fit into the work here. Rocky was able to take them into our former tribal station. It is always a blessing for him to be back in that area, and have time with the believers. We are excited that George and Nathan and their families will be joining us here later this year.
