It is very good to remember that “a man makes his plans, but the steps of a righteous man ore ordered of the Lord”, especially when events and circumstances aren’t lining up with someone’s timetable. I have been reminded of this once again and I thank the Lord for His encouragement to trust Him no matter how it seems to me.
We have shared this before, too. A missionary from Bolivia visited our training class while we were in Canada and shed a little light on the idea of trusting the Lord and remaining flexible. He said “An old proverb I heard from a missionary on this field goes like this, “Blessed are the flexible, for they will not be bent out of shape.”.” That brought laughs of identification from our whole class. I still chuckle when I remember the way he put it.
So, we have returned to our home town. We are planning meetings with friends and trusting the Lord to build our financial and prayer partnerships. Our schedules will need to remain flexible so we and our friends live don’t get bent out of shape. 😀
We have already been able to share our heart for ministry in Indonesia twice. Once with our old Sunday Adult class and once with a dear couple who have been friends for many years.
We are thankful to report the Lord has brought our support up from 11% (where we were August 1st) to almost 17% in just two weeks! Our prayer calendar has been grown by two new partners, too!! We only have one day without a praying partner left.
We are so grateful for every one who is supporting us both financially and prayerfully. Keep on praying and rejoicing in how the Lord continues to move us closer to our desired Nov. departure date.
We just got word that Jinni’s passport renewal has been completed and sent back to us. We are praying the other four of us will get our notice pretty soon, too. We know God’s timing is impeccable and we WILL remain flexible – hahaha.
our family and yours for Christ’s glory,
Roland (for the Shafers)
