We are back in MO after spending almost all the summer away. We were planning to be on campus for about half of the Summer but after a few major detours, we have been here only three and a half weeks! The Lord has allowed us to be away, involved in partnership development for most of the ‘detours’. We have experienced His care all summer even with the detours. Packing our campus apartment in order to be back to TN within the next 7 days is top priority. Our field leadership and sending church agreed we should now wait until April to raise the needed support to get to Indonesia. Our senders believe it best we return home from the MTC in Missouri. This will allow us to make a few of the trips we had desired to, without the pressure of hurrying here and there to visit. So there is lots going on here in preparation to hit the road back to TN. Barring any further detours we should be there around the first week of October some time.
Our old van was worked on while we were away. A group of folks visit the MTC and repair what they can- at no cost to missionary staff. The mechanic found a leaky brake line (surprised I missed it?) and replaced it. There was a right rear axle seal that was replaced, too, and the rear end refilled with heavy duty gear oil. Now we can give this vehicle to a couple, down here, who can really use it. We will be delivering it to them this weekend, a minor detour.
We know the Lord is fully aware of our adventures. Your support and prayers have encouraged us through each detour so far. We are thankful for all you do to keep us focused on the journey and not the circumstances!
Pressing on to our next “lay-over”…
