Hi friends,
Furlough is going well and we are having a great time with family here in N.I. at the moment. Thank-you for all your prayers and partnership in the gospel. Below there are some praise and prayer points to add to your list.
Praise
- Thanks to God that He has been helping us as we have a busy speaking schedule. God is using the testimony of the Mengen church to challenge the churches we have visited thus far. Last week we had 5 meetings please pray the seed sown would raise up more people and churches to join us in the work of establishing churches amongst the Mengen people.
- Praise God that the book of Romans is now in the hands of the Mengen people! Rebecca and Keri were able to distribute it to the church there a week ago.
- Praise God Nya is over her malaria and the treatment worked well.
- Praise God that 2 new villages and a family group are interested in hearing the gospel message. Teachers from the church are investigating and praying through possibilities.
- Our partners are out of the tribe for an extended time; praise God that he is using this in the church and that our teachers are leading, teaching, training, doing the work of discipleship whilst on there own.
- Praise God that things are going better for Annika and the baby. She is able to eat much more and the nausea is all but gone.
- Praise God that even though food is short right now because of bad rains, that the church is sharing what little they have and are meeting each others needs.
Pray
- That we would get more opportunities to speak about the needs of the unreached world in Churches – pray we can maximize our time on furlough for Gods glory.
- Please pray that Annika will have a good and safe pregnancy and that we will have a healthy baby come early Aug.
- Pray for us as a family as we will be traveling around the UK in these next two weeks. We will be speaking at the NTM N. Ireland conference this coming weekend. Then we leave on Wed of the next week to take part in the NTM UK conference on the mainland. Many young people will be attending and conferences are packed out; please pray for God to move and raise up people to see His unfinished task completed.
- Pray for the Mengen church that God would continue to help and protect them as they are learning that God can use them and work through them when the missionaries are not present for a time.
- Pray for the Mengen believers that God would provide for them as they are having lots of rain which is destroying their crops and causing a food shortage.
- Pray for wisdom regarding our airstrip. It has been closed down at present and needs some work, pray God would help us to decide the best road forward.
- Pray for our partners the Laureti family and for Keri and Rebecca as they continue in the work and move between our support center traveling into the church from time to time.
- Lourens has been training our teaching to study and develop lessons / sermons from the word of God. He has been see great results and this has been of great blessing to the teachers. We continue to disciple and train, so the indigenous church will be mature, able to stand on it’s own and ready to plant churches in the years ahead.
Thank-you so much for your prayers and support; without the wider team and body of Christ we would not be able to see churches planted amongst the Mengen people or have the blessing of working with them. Our God will reward you.
Much love in our Saviors name,
Simon, Annika, Nya and Noah
