Many of you will know Nya got injured about two months ago. Since then, we have been trying to get her treatment via Aus and reached out to other countries and churches/missions to try to find the best option for diagnosis and treatment. Not easy decisions at all. I will be taking Nya out of the country to the West Coast of the US for medical help for her hip injury. A pediatrician and surgeon we know through a missions board that supports us has contacts there and went to work arranging an appointment with an orthopedic surgeon who is a hip specialist.
We have to get MRI arthrogram images, which aren’t available in PNG, nor is the treatment to correct them. We need this imaging for a diagnosis. We are booked in with the specialist the day after we arrive.
The injury Nya has seems likely to be a labral tear in the cartilage of her hip socket or sockets. This will need to be stitched via keyhole surgery if that’s the case. This is something we can’t leave as more damage would occur now and later in life. Right now, anything more than a walk causes pain, and she clicks when she walks with some grinding sensation.
We are praying for some miracles, and God has already answered some. We are praising God for providing special gifts already for our plane tickets. We have a place to stay and a car to drive. THANK YOU:
Pray for the following –
1) Speedy diagnosis.
2) Quick date for an operation.
3) In order for Nya to get back into our mission school and boarding program, we need to be back when School starts. Aug 5th. The school is short on teachers, and if we miss the start by much, it won’t be possible to get the help to catch up.
4) We have return tickets in hand for the 31st of July. Please pray we can make those and have all treatment done in time.
5) Please pray for complete repair and speedy healing.
6) Please pray for Annika and the four kids at home on our support center. This is not easy, and being apart will be hard. Especially as Nya and Noah will be living away from us next year, and this time together is precious. Pray we can be back together again soon.
7) Pray for God’s CONTINUED provision for medical.
8) Pray that Nya and Noah can start the term on time, and for an open door to get back to the Mengen church.
Much love, Simon, Annika, Nya, Noah, Karis, and Ethan.
